Famous Five deals boosting sales and margins for One Stop franchisees

One Stop has coined its top five deals as the ‘Famous Five’ which are going down a storm with customers whilst significantly improving franchisees’ sales and giving their profits a big summer boost.

The deals are repeatedly driving customers into One Stop’s 950 UK stores, the Famous Five deals are:

  • £3 lunchtime meal deal
  • 3 for £1.20 on confectionery
  • 3 for £5 beers and cider
  • £5 wines
  • 2 for £2 on soft drinks

Sunder Sander’s Leamington Spa store has seen a growth both in footfall and sales thanks to the Famous Five, as he explains: “The Famous Five are the best promotions on the market and our customers love the choice and range available. Sales are escalating every week and I’ve never sold so much stock. My store is so busy since moving to One Stop that my sales have doubled and I now need deliveries six-days a week!”

Sunder is also delighted that the promotions are so easy to implement: “One Stop has taken all the hard work out of behind-the-scenes running of promotions, as all the items are linked in the EPoS system, saving me time and making it easy for my staff at the tills. Before joining One Stop I found promotions hard work, but now they’re far simpler and the margins are great. I’m really happy because my turnover is increasing and my cash margin is far better than before I was a franchisee.”

The support from One Stop doesn’t end with the EPoS though, as all promotional material is supplied from One Stop’s head office and the support team are always at the end of the phone. Sunder adds: “The Point of Sale (PoS) for each promotion is second to none with One Stop and the banner outside my shop brings people into the store. The promotions make my store different to others in the local area and they certainly drive footfall. I make sure I promote the Famous Five on social media and we have printed leaflets in store, plus my staff tell customers about the deals – who can’t believe the value!”

The placement of the products in store has also had a positive impact on Sunder’s sales, as he explains: “I have a soft drinks cabinet at the back of the store, so when people come in specifically for the 2 for £2 on soft drinks, they walk through the rest of the store adding other items to their basket on the way. I have people coming in every day for the £3 Meal Deal as it offers such great value and they always browse other items when selecting the various different items in the deal.”

As a result of the Famous Five deals, Sunder is even recognised in his neighbourhood! “I’m well known in my local area as the ‘man with the promotions’! Our customers see the offers on social media and talk to me on the street about them. I’m happy and my customers are happy, so it’s win-win!”
